A 'guthi' is something that keeps things together just like this one, handmade with pure cotton tie and dye fabric. This design is named on one of the women producers from a resource poor community in Punjab.

In English, it would be called a pouch that can be carried by any woman (typically!) for a lunch or dinner outing; to keep your jewellery safe at home or in the locker; carry your toiletries or make up; use as a gift bag with little things filled in for someone near and dear; or even just keep easy to reach knick-knacks or stationery at home or work.
